News  Union County High School Wins Prestigious Palmetto Gold Award

Union Comprehensive High School was awarded the prestigious Palmetto Gold Award by the South Carolina Department of Education recently at an awards ceremony in Columbia.  Established by the Education Accountability Act, the award recognizes schools with the highest levels of student academic achievement and the fastest rates of improvement in the 2005-2006 academic year. 

The award recognizes the accomplishments of the school system's administrators, teachers, students, staff, and parents in reaching the goals set by the Education Accountability Act.  South Carolina State Superintendent of Education Inez Tenenbaum presented the award to the school's faculty and students.
